New Module from Make Noise: Bruxa!
Переглядів 16 тис.День тому
The Bruxa music synthesizer module is an audio alchemical experiment. Spill your sound into time, and let it decay through the filters to hear the results. Bruxa is a collaboration between Make Noise and Alessandro Cortini. Inspired by Cortini’s music and sonic experimentations, Bruxa embodies the seen and unseen, the sign and magic, the alchemy of sound. It is a new evolution of Tony and Aless...

PrssPnt theme music by Sam! The PrssPnt music synthesizer module is a controller in which several signals are generated by touching the printed copper wire at the bottom of the instrument. Touching PrssPnt, you become part of the circuit, generating a total of four simultaneous signals (two CV, two Gate). The basic function of PrssPnt will be familiar to anyone who has used Pressure Points or 0...

Let's start getting a little more systematic with escape patch ideas. Let’s start with an assumption, let’s say a hypothesis actually, that this is a subterranean place, a “netherworld.” Let’s make a new escape patch. Let’s base it on the idea of “going up and down.” www.makenoisemusic.com

So is this a one and done module. 1 special order or will it be rereleased every so often?
stellar patching and fantastic module.
Amazing. Looking forward to getting the module, when Schneider‘s Berlin delivers it. Realise I‘ll need 2 of them for stereo, panning through XPAN, or for the second channel I could use Erbe-Verb, but then I‘d have a extra output channel free… I know. I‘ll feed that back into the Spectraphon… Hurry up and make these things - my patch is waiting!!!! 👍👍👍👍😎🫵🫵🫵
Can’t wait to send my Spectraphon to this thing!!
Mono sucks. Cheap kareoke chips seals the “nope”. thin 12v modular power is already bad enough for synth & cheap components do not sound “vibey” or kitch. Just bad. Modular inherently already lacks robust power, so why go this route? Cool idea but let’s hear it with 15v and high quality BBD’s! Eurorack SNR and headroom suck. There’s no way around it. I sold my rig for 25k and never looked back. Once you’ve heard a matrix 12, Moog’s original Modular Synth systems, Roland system 100, etc you just can’t compare modular to the real 15v deal. Facts. Looking forward to this architecture/design topology in a more robust format
wow works so good on the krell ! big patch !!
I’m getting childhood flashbacks of The Zarn from Land of the Lost!!
Very nice! After a 20 hiatus from synths, I was reincarnated in Eurorack. Where I used to fawn over huge relics, the heart of it is now vastly more interactable thanks to good folks such as yourselves putting in the work. As I perused all of the entry points available, I found myself attracted to Rene. It is deep, but not too deep. Fixed and quantized - or not. Performable and also engaging to my outsiders view. It looks like a piece of alien tech that I wanted to interact with. Thanks for sharing your interactions with these modules, it's interesting that even as a designer, you can still find new ground to cover. I look forward to that myself!
A bruxa tá à solta!
So many epic patches. I have to hand it to you - you know how to create utter fomo and fly product off the shelf. Bruxa is now on my “must have” list. Well played. ❤
Love it.
For the "Not stereo? WHAT BULLSHIT??!!!" people: not everything needs to be in stereo. Guitars are mono. Human voice is mono. This is already a limited release, because it will not sell much. If it was stereo, it would cost even more. It might not be viable at all to make this as stereo.
Hey Walker, hope you read this. Hadnt seen this one. Its a real beauty. Want to say to you and Tony and everyone at Makenoise that your products are elite. Ive got the trio and absolutely love them. Cheers for giving non modular people modular gear. Its a great format. I have a small system but tend to use these more. 🙌
The sound of Satans underpants.👌
Juicy
The Strega is one the most prized and enjoyed instruments in my studio. Bruxa looks really great, and I bet folks who have this in their Eurorack system will love it too.
UA-cam comments are so weird…the maj7 latching was dope. Like always, it’s really fun to watch you patch.
I love that Krell patch. Here you can clearly hear the T/F without Strega disruption. It kind of sounds like a vintage spring reverb and a tape echo.
a bit disappointed here… nothing i couldn’t do with extensive R&D, a penchant for releasing creative and inspiring hardware, a knowledge of building synthesizer modules and programming and a collaboration with a world-famous electronic musician
Why no stereo? You've been on a roll with the stereo modules...
you can't have stereo without mono dog.
@@RareosThat makes no sense at all.
@@stephanrewind sure it does!
@@Rareos I mean it’s like saying you can’t have two legs without having one. It’s true, but that doesn’t really help the guy with one leg, does it?
@@stephanrewind but why think about the sound on isolation? It’s about a mix, because that’s where these tools will be employed. mono effects are effective, great for creating depth, great to pan around and send into other stereo effects. My comment was only an abstract reference to that context, in lieu of all the mono bashing ;)
Love the 7:45 jam v i b e s ~ ~
I haven't been watching your videos as much as I used to, but I love this video that shows great sounds and patching without the bearded guy on screen. It made me want to buy your products for the first time in a while. I know this might be rude, but I just want to let you know that not everyone likes bearded synthesizer videos, so please bear with me. Thank you.
is it just me or is it really sounds like stregas amazing delay. i need this.....quick!!!
80's horror flick vibes / Ennio Morricone Vibe towards the end is freaking nice Makes me think of the Movie A Lizard in a Woman's Skin ( Una lucertola con la pelle di donna )
Strength Row outpuTs! Someone didn't use a spell checker 😉
Wow that was wonderful!🤩🥰
Wow, lovely organic tones. This will fit nicely color-wise between my good old Rainmaker and my Soma Lyra8-fx. I do wish it were stereo, but this might pair great with a mid/side approach to using delay.
I love Strega. The only issue with me is not being able to clock delay time
I think it's time for me and my system to join a coven .🤟. Lovely module, and by the way the design is so elegant.. Takes my money, my soul and my precious hp's .
Good it's not yet again STEREO filter. We need smth for center bass
Sounds good apart from the orchestral hit which made me feel a bit sick
Around 11:40 dub comes throug.Super nice.
Beautiful circuit for those who love amps and find themselves playing the delay more than the ‘real’ instrument. Strega is basically 3 kinds of tones, a vco, delay, and resonant modulation of the amp, which can be a tone at audio rate. So Bruxa embodies the two more esoteric tone possibilities of Strega, making it more than a delay, more than a reverb, it makes it something with resonance and distortion in a volatile amp circuit that can be molded to create something wholly new, something more than sound, something like the Happy Place Alessandro refers to when talking about Strega. For those who want a delay, it will prove useful, for those in search of their own Happy Place, it may be transformational.🖖
Are the internals of this module any different from running an external source into strega? Like, could I recreate any of the sounds with bruxa with strega?
Mono delay when all recent Make Noise modules are stereo makes no sense to me. Wasn’t this the opportunity to upgrade the Strega delay to stereo?
That's what I thought straight away.... But maybe the circuit isn't really suitable for it, so it's difficult to get the same sound twice. At least with the stereo LPG they used a similar argument as to why it doesn't have vactrols.
@@AnnesYarak You very may be right. But then it begs the question, if it’s not possible, why still making it instead of focusing on making a new stereo effect module? I think I can call myself a Make Noise fan (of their modules, not their videos), but I can’t fit Bruxa in my full stereo Make Noise signal flow. And judging by the number of comments asking for a stereo Erbe verb, it looks like I’m not the only one hungry for quality Make Noise stereo FX. I feel like it’s what they lack of in their offering.
@@stephanrewind Don't most of your stereo MN modules output mono if you remove the jack from their R output? Voila, you now have a mono path to use with Bruxa!
@@-crash I’m going to make you a shocking revelation. Ready? I built a rack with a full stereo path to work in stereo.
@@stephanrewind salty
Excellent! The saturation comes off different than Strega. It Sounds quite different. Time circuit sounds similar but the overall timbre is different and ME LIKEY. Great work Noisy Ones
Sucks that it’s a limited release, but I couldn’t resist adding a bit of Strega to the rack!
The orchestra hit demo was hilarious
Woke me up
It deserve the "thumbs up" of its own right
I laughed!
Mini Witch
I know why I love my Strega. ;) Cool stuff.
3:47 spine-tickler
A little bit disapointed here ... nothing new in terms of realisation i can do with my actual modules.
I don’t think so. But please let me know
Not everything's for you
Personally I appreciate that they are sorta splitting their modules into smaller, more accessible, cheaper eurorack options. It certainly allows for more options
@@juliantaylor5956 That's actually where I got off the boat, it's really quite expensive and seems like a good chunk of that price is due to the Cortini association and ''limited release'' nature. It quite expensive for what it is, used Stregas can be had for $500 or less and this is roughly 1/3 of that circuit. Seeing lots of lyra-8fx comparisons which are way cheaper. This feels inaccessible and collector-focused at this price point (check some of the cultish comments from the usual FOMO slaves), no doubt a lot of people seeing current-day QMMG prices are interested in Bruxa. Anyone reading this probably has multiple filters to play with, how about a Meraki or a Cosmos, or the PT offerings from AndrewF of NLC? It's just hard to justify at this price point, even though I think it sounds nice there's no way ''cheaper'' fits here.
great sounds!
Lovely sounds that makes me second guess my stereo obsession, but I would need that option to make this worth close to £400
As someone who speaks Portuguese as their first language, I thought the title of the teaser video was auto-translated by UA-cam, so I was quite surprised to find out the module is actually named Bruxa haha
Which title? 😅
acho que é porque Strega é bruxa em italiano e o circuito é inspirado no delay e no filtro de lá?
@@studio48nl "da bruxa malvada não tenho mais medo pois a bela fada contou--me um segredo"
Same here. I’m currently in Portugal and no matter how many times I try to tell Google I want content in English it constantly switches to Portuguese and hides the language selection option.
@@fernandowhitaker735 Isso!
Not sure if I feel the same spark from this as the other MN modules.
I don't know. You lose my interest with all the mumbo jumbo jargon. I'd prefer to know straight up what it is and does. It does sound kind of good
Yeah, bruxa and strega! Great sonic tools🖤! Greetings 🖖👽
interesting
Sounds freaking awesome, mono is an interesting choice
